Encouragement

Theme: Encouragement

It is absolutely necessary for the believer to both give and receive encouragement. It provides strength to the receiver and no doubt, strength and joy to the one giving it. Encouragement provides rejuvenation – it gives refreshment. Encouragement all in all gives hope.

“Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” Romans 12:18

Question to ponder: Since encouragement gives strength, can it be said that discouragement drains strength causing one to be weak?

  1. Discouragement is certainly draining, but encouragement is like someone handing you a popsicle on a hot day. Even a little one satisfies!
I have a senior adult friend from Germany who survived WW2 as a seven year old girl. She and her mom slept on straw in a church for several days. Her mother told her (as an encouragement), “Anything is better than nothing.”
    God is SO GOOD!
    Blessings.

  2. It is wonderful to be encouraged, it spurs us to not give up and keep going. And those few words of encouragement from us can make such a difference to someone else. And I do think discouragement is draining.
    Blessings sis💙

  3. Encouragement is a blessing. And it’s true that having the right words said to us in those challenging seasons can spur one to hope for the best. May we be encouragers and may our hearts be encouraged as well. 🙏
Thanks for sharing, big sis. ❤

  4. I grew up with “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me,” and I found out that wasn’t true! Words hurt and they can destroy relationships. But encouraging words can heal and give life. Thanks for a great post, “Precious.” ❤
