“Call to me, and I will answer….” Jeremiah 33:3.
On one particular morning some time ago, I woke up with a headache. I thought it was my sinus acting up and so I ignored it. The pain persisted and so I opted to drink some aloe (yes, the bitter stuff).
Pain lingered.
I got my Neti pot and used it, yet still the pain remained.
With no change, I broke down and took one of those sinus pressure pills.
Head ache insisted on being an unwelcome guest.
By nightfall, this nagging headache refused to leave. I turned in that night thinking that a good night sleep would do the trick.
Morning came.
Hello headache 🤕
With the pain lingering on and being a nag, I shared with my parents how distressed I felt with the ache in my head. I told them that nothing I tried caused the pain to be eased, or worst, be vanquished.
This aroused their concern and my dad made me a cup of ginger tea thinking the pain was gaseous in nature.
I drank the tea. No relief.
Ugh!
I headed to bed that night, earlier than usual because of this pain.
As I lay in bed in the semi- dark room, I felt Holy Spirit speaking to my heart.
“You didn’t ask Me for help. You tried everything you knew to. You shared with all who would listen, yet you didn’t ask Me for help.”
Such great shame washed over me. How could the One I love and trust the most be the last person I turned to?
How many times would I turn to everyone else and leave my Lord as my last resort?
How many times would I try my own remedies and lean to my own understanding?
When will I get it right?
I repented of my acts and asked my Abba to take the pain away.
Immediately it left! I mean as soon as I asked, the pain left.
Immediately!
“Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on Him to guide you, and He will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with Him in whatever you do, and He will lead you wherever you go.” Proverbs 3:5-6 TPT
Today, if you’re facing any issue – go to the Father, first.
He wants us to ask for His thoughts and His help. He’s waiting for us to turn to Him to seek His counsel, His strength, His favor, His healing, His provision, His love, His forgiveness, His grace, His benefits…Himself ❤️

So glad to read the end of your post after the sad beginning. Our God is awesome, we must first call on Him. Thank you for sharing.

You’re most welcome, beloved.
I’m so glad the sadness didn’t linger, Sophia! I’m reminded of a verse that says weeping may endure for night, but joy comes in the morning.
Abba us good all the time, all the time, Abba is good. ❤️

I see why your name is Precious One. Indeed it is very fitting. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. It is my hearts desire to turn many that are lost to the Father. He is The Answer.

Awww, the Lord through a servant gave me this name many years ago at a time when I felt like a dish rag, or maybe worse. I’m so thankful He is our Redeemer 🙌🏽
I stand with you agreeing for this, my sister. Only He is our Answer.

So often we tend to do things in our own strength instead of first turning to Him.
Thank you for sharing Dee 🤗

Yep, that sounds like God. (“Why didn’t You heal me?” – “You didn’t ask.” 😉 )
I once had an annoying case of hiccups, and every time I prayed it went away, but soon came back. This happened 14 times in one day! I was very young at the time, so I’m not sure if I really heard His “still, small voice,” but at the end of the day when the 14th set of hiccups left, I asked Him why He had let it happen over and over again.
In my 20-something mind I “heard” Him chuckle and say, “Hey, I got you to talk to Me fourteen times today. 😉 ) (I guess I had been negligent in my prayer life.)

Oh Ann, this was a wonderful recap of your experience. Thank you for sharing with me. 14 times – double completion lol.
I’m so thankful the Lord has a sense of humor, and is a great Teacher too. Come to think of it, I believe you’re walking in His footsteps too 🤗

It is so like us to wait until all else has failed to turn to the only One that can truly fix our problems. I’m certainly guilty of that!

Hey Sis! It’s been a while…
That is so true, no wonder the Lord keeps on giving us these lessons, over and over and over again. Whew! I’m so glad He is patient with us though, for we are truly practicing going to Him first. ❤️

Yes, thank God for His PATIENCE! If our Father weren’t long suffering, we would be in a world of trouble!

I laughed out loud when I read your blog. I said to myself, Precious One is young. She no doubt believes that although at a young age, all of her life’s journey will be on point. Sorry! Get real! Bumps and potholes will be all of our pit-falls until traveling days are over. I sincerely invite you to join the masses and stay connected to the Man who can ‘break every chain’, Christ Jesus. Be blessed!

Thank you for reminding me that it is only through Christ Jesus that all chains are broken. May He always be the One we turn to in every area of our lives. 🙏🏽

Oh Lena, my heart goes out to you even now. Are you one of those in Michigan that was affected?

Yes we are. We had 4″ in our basement which was finished. Compared to those whose whole houses washed downriver our damaged is minor. We are thankful our damage was in the bottom level only. The ground is so saturated water is still coming in. There are several days of rain in the forecast. Pray for our community! Thanks. 🙂

So true. Seek the Lord first. We use to sing a song that states, “If you try everything and everything fails, try Jesus.” I realized how wrong that statement is and your post confirms it. Thank you.

Yay!. Thank God. 💃
I’m grateful for the Holy Spirit too. It’s so amazing at how we try to look for resolve all over – trying different means, forgetting that our needed resolve is ever-present and within. I need to remember this more often myself. 🙇
Thanks sis. ❤🤗

Dear Deandra, Thank you for your healing words. I did the same mistake, many times… Sometimes I assumed that I prayed…But I did not! The devil deceived me not to pray anymore saying to me: ‘you have prayed already, why disturb the Master?’ It was very much like this scripture: “While Jesus was speaking, someone came from Jairus’ home and said, “Your daughter has died! Why bother the teacher anymore?” (Lk 8:49). To my shame, if it is not for the grace of God, I could have accepted the death of my dream as he was lying in bed, helpless and fainting for lack of prayers… God has overruled my mistakes so many times, I cannot count them…. In all things, we give thanks… One good thing coming from your headache is that today, we can exchange testimonies of the grace and the goodness of God! And for that, we worship Jesus! God bless you, sister!
