“If You’re not in it
Then I don’t want it
Let all else fade away
Take the whole world
But give me Jesus
Let all else fade away…”
This song by Passion has been reverberating in my spirit for several weeks since hearing it at an Alpha Next Study. Further lyrics are:
“Speak to me
You’re the only voice I want to hear
Walk with me
Show me who You are as I draw near
Holy fire
Burn away the old that stands between
If You’re not in it
Then I don’t want it…”
Imagine with me just for a minute yourself sitting under this tree with our beloved Lord while singing this love song to Him. Can you picture the smile that would show up on His face knowing He is getting your undivided attention.
We were made to be in relationship with God. Sure, we need each other as well, but our primary relationship is with Yahweh. We were made to please Him, to serve Him, to fulfill the purpose He intended of us, to give Him honor and glory. Solomon said, the whole duty do man is to fear God and keep His commandments.
When Adam was made and placed in the garden, Yahweh intentionally sought out Adam EVERYDAY for dialogue. When man sin, I believe it truly hurt God’s heart. That close communion He enjoyed with man was greatly impacted. No longer could He come down as He did to freely fellowship with man. Sin entered and so since our Holy God cannot “dwell” in sin, separation from the place of paradise had to take place. Because of His love for mankind however, He immediately instituted a way to begin getting man back into right standing with Him.
Sacrifices of animals.
The giving and observance of the laws.
Speaking through dreams and prophets.
Carving out a specific set of people.
The ultimate sacrifice of His only Son – the Lamb which was slain for our sins.
The promise and fulfillment of the Blessed Comforter.
Our Lord from the offense in the Garden has always been yearning to re-enter fellowship with His created being.
He longs to share His heart with us. Oh how He desires to communicate consistently with us.
He wants to be the center of our lives.
He wants to be our priority.
He wants us to come to the realization that He is all we need since only He is eternal.
Heaven and earth will vanish.
Houses, cars, money, assets; even our kids and spouses (as precious as they are) will eventually vanish away too.
But our God can never disappear – Hallelujah!! He endures forever.
Paul in the book of Romans reminds us that God loves us so much, that not even His own Son was withheld from us. He also provides us with a list of objects (death, life, angels, principalities, powers, things present, things to come, height, depth, creatures) that would be unable to separate us from the love of our Daddy…
So today, let’s fix our eyes on the Author and Finisher of our faith. The One who truly loves us and longs for us
Yes, sins may have been committed by us.
Yes, we may have allowed the cares of life to creep in and block us from truly embracing our Daddy’s love.
Yes, we may have did this or not done that but it’s time friend, to repent and let it all fade in the background.
Forgive yourself.
Forgive the offender.
Let the bills, the stresses of work, the children, the spouse, the grouchy neighbor and their barking dog, the health issues, the (whatever) – let them fade…
“…Cause Your name is the only name that matters
And your heart is all that I desire
And not my will, but Yours alone forever
Here’s my life, have Your way (Your way)
Your name is the only name that matters
And your heart is all that I desire
Not my will, but Yours alone forever
Here’s my life, have Your way
Here’s my life, have Your way
Here’s my life, have Your way“
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance, the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.“ Hebrews 12:1-2(NIV)
Thanks for sharing this Deandra. Alpha is such a great and grounding course, I would love to see more of God’s people partake. Jehovah is our heart’s desire, and sometimes we need to be redirected. I love reminders of His goodness, and the fact that He makes a way where there is no way. Blessings ♥

I definitely want to hear the Holy Spirit speaking to me everyday. I want to make my relationship with God my top priority. Even when things happen that distract me, I want to be able to quickly refocus and give it all to Him. Thank you my friend for this reminder 💕 Right now I’m learning God is my Source! 🌸

Hallelujah! We are in the same proverbial boat Dawn. When we have discovered that God is all we have, we can rest knowing He is all we need. Let all else fade away, take the whole world, give me Jesus, let all else fade away 🎧

I can imagine sitting under that tree and soaking in Jesus. And letting Holy Spirit control my thoughts as I listen carefully to everything… not having my phone to take a whole bunch of pictures… but having a recorder to record my worship and singing of psalms.. you have painted quite a picture with this post Deandra!
Now I long to be in His presence. Glory to YahWeh💜💜 God Bless your writings… your relationship is growing and deepening with Yah.. Hallelujah!!
