Happy Birthday Mom

I’m not usually one who readily displays public gestures of affection but today, I just have to tell God thanks for saving my mama’s life for one more year.

Mom post surgery

Last Monday as I looked on her laying on that bed after surgery, it took God’s strength in me to stand flat footed and not burst out in tears. As I stood by looking at her droopy face and answering her questions – repeatedly, I was like Lord, thank You once more for saving mom’s life and for keeping me from an intense grief that I’m sure I’m not ready for. I also thanked Him the surgery went well and He was able to intervene in the nick of time. The surgeon said she could have had sepsis which would have been a whole different ball game. Whew! Praise the name of Jesus!

I felt like Paul in verse 27 of Philippians 2 –

Indeed he was ill, near to death. But God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

For my friends who have lost their mom at some point, may the Lord be a mom to you and if possible, send you a “substitute” today or when the time is needed. For those who still have a mom, love on them. Encourage them. Serve them.

Anyhow, a special shout out to my African Queen today who continues to press through on her road to recovery.

I love you mommy!

I will pass on the message for sure. I’m planning on taking her to see “Overcomer” later. I pray the line isn’t too long and we get to our seats at the third row in the back without much hindrances 🙏🏽
May the Lord bless you, Dawn. May He cause His face to shine upon you. May He lift up His countenance and be gracious unto you. May He give you His Shalom 🤗. Love you 😘😘

    1. Mother Fowler…there is power in the name of Jesus. As I write this I’m now listening to Tasha Cobbs, “There’s power in the name of Jesus” and here comes your message. Hallelujah!
      We love You, Jesus!

Happy birthday to your mum. She is your testimony. I remember going to see my mum in America while she was still undergoing treatment, the last time I had seen her, she had a full head of hair and was all over the place, but when I saw her again, she was a shadow of herself, but we were grateful that was still there to even have a shadow. I feel your heart in times like these. God is faithful. He will remain so. Love you, sis

    1. Tosin, you are an anointed woman of God. You have been pressed and crushed in so many ways that even in your comments I can feel the Spirit of God through you! Wow! Thank you for sharing some of your story and reminding me that indeed our God is Faithful and will remain so even through eternity. I love you right back ❤️🤗

                1. Amen! It sure doesn’t my love. I wrote an email to friend this morning saying that the connection we share is so real that I know it is God. His love is able to climb over any walls, cross any oceans, surpass any borders and connect to our hearts in a way that only Holy Spirit can explain. Hallelujah for His love!

  5. Happy birthday to your mom. I praise God with you that she lives to see another birthday and I pray that she will live to see many more as she moves on to full recovery. I know what it is like to lose a mom suddenly because I went through it. God will not give us more than we can bear and He knows you were not ready fo it. As a matter of fact no one is ever ready for grief. Continue to love and cherish your precious mom.

    1. Thank you, Jennifer 🤗

Such experiences with our loved ones gives us a new perspective and a zeal to love on them even more because we have a glimpse of how short and fragile is.

I agree with you and say the same – especially when I see the pain He kept from us – Abba, thank You for Your mercy!
