Ultimate Sacrifice

A friend of mine this morning sent me a voice note in which creative writers directed an audio scene capturing the trial of Jesus.

In this recording, the news anchor shared that Jesus died from asphyxiation through crucifixion among other things. We are somewhat familiar with the process which led up to our Lord’s death on Calvary’s cross.

He was betrayed…

Forgotten by His close friends…

Left to stand trial alone…

Had no “public” defender…

Received a mock trial…

Scourged…

Ridiculed…

Spat on…

Ostracized…

Condemned to die…

Carried His cross…

Bled profusely….

Stripped of His garments…

Received a crown of thorns that pierced His head…

Given bitter gall to drink…

Had nails pierce His wrists and His legs…

Jesus, my Lord while hanging on that cross died from lack of oxygen. He was asphyxiated.

The God who makes life and who gives breath watched His only Son not only suffer to the greatest extremity for me – but also watch Him lose (give up) that life – for me.

If that is not love my friend. I don’t know what or who Love is.

Jesus gave up His breath so that I could breathe.

Jesus gave up His breath so that You could breathe.

Hallelujah!!

Our Lord has paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we would have the opportunity to “breathe” eternally.

Find someone today and let them know,

“The God who made life and gives breath watched His Son die from lack of oxygen or breath, just so we could breathe.” #grateful

His Ultimate sacrifice is our victory!

    1. Ah! As the words were typed I remembered it was the season of Easter and how our Lord died for us and how I need to keep this at the forefront of my mind going forward. Thank you for reminding us of He who Is Love 😊
