An overwhelming sea

Having a godly community is good. I dare say it is a tremendous blessing.

One way to describe this gift is by imagining being a tall palm tree that has its branches raised to the warm sunny sky surrounded by a body of cool, deep water.

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians‬ ‭6:2‬ ‭ESV‬‬.

As I sit in the waiting room waiting for a relative’s surgery to finish I check my phone and review various responses to my earlier SOS prayer request.

“I’m praying”

“I have prayed”

“Already sent it”

“I will be praying all day”

“Trust God, it will be well”

“Let us continue to look to the hills”

The overwhelming feeling of gratitude I feel leaves me without words.

My folks are praying.

They may not be here in person but they are praying.

They are all across the globe, but they have prayed and remain in a position of prayer.

I’m sitting here not knowing what to pray, truthfully, feeling all prayed out but praise Yahweh there is sea around me washing my circumstances with prayer. Folks are helping to bear my burdens.

The Bible celebrates and encourages fellowship of believers.

There is power and strength in unity.

A support group, they are a flowing stream of hope.

Today, I’m honored to say that I am blessed to be surrounded by a community of praying people, especially knowing that they are able to hold my hands in times of weakness and distress.
