#convicted

Lately, my boss has been griping alllloooott about her boss.

She is without a doubt stressed out, has all rights to gripe on how she’s feeling and treated but the issue comes in when I join in the griping party.

The first time I found myself at this “function”, the Holy Spirit put a check in my spirit and convicted me that I was wrong. After all, I’m a professed Christian and my boss is not. Furthermore, I aim to let my light shine so that others (the ones I work with especially) can see the light and it can invite them to Christ.

Unfortunately, I didn’t allow the check to deter me from joining on the bandwagon. In fact, today I spearheaded the campaign, much to my utter shame (I’m sure Jesus hung His head too). My boss upon hearing me said “Lord, please put a bridle on Deandra’s tongue.” Talk about conviction to the higher degree.

Now tonight as I get ready to unwind and go to bed, my devotional left me this quote “Check your heart and watch your mouth” AND Romans 13:1-2. Talk about the Holy Spirit saying “I’m not done dealing with you Hurst, you need to get this message through your skull.”

“Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment.” ‬ ‭WEB
